People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent hourly rates, consistent Monday to Friday work, and long-term ongoing opportunities.
Shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Start time: 04:00
- Monday and Thursday nights out (£26.20 + expenses)
Rates of Pay
- £15.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
- Safely operate Class 2 (Category C) vehicles
- Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure all loads are safely secured
- Adhere to traffic laws and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
- Assist with loading and unloading as needed
- 5–7 drops per day, including distance work (as far as Carlisle and Cornwall)
- White goods retail deliveries using a tail lift
Essential Skills
- Valid UK Category C Licence
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Class 2 vehicles
- Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsements)
- Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Strong punctuality and time-keeping
- Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience driving other commercial vehicles
- Previous multi-drop experience
Training Provided
- Driving assessment required prior to start
- One-day paid induction following successful assessment
- Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
