People Solutions are currently recruiting for a skilled and versatile CAD/CAM Designer to join our well-established client based in Oldbury/Dudley. This is a key, hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and involvement across the full project lifecycle - from initial concept through to final manufacture. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, problem solving and working closely with both design and production teams to deliver bespoke, high-quality components.
Location: Oldbury/Dudley
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Day-to-day duties:
- CAD design and production of detailed technical drawings
- 3D modelling using SolidWorks
- CNC programming using AlphaCAM, including 3D machining strategies
- Providing technical support to the sales team, including costings and lead times
- Supporting CNC setup, quality checks, and continuous process improvement
- Working closely with machine operators and production teams on the factory floor
- Problem-solving, value engineering, and improving manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure designs are practical and production-ready
Essential skills:
- Proven experience in CAD design and CNC programming
- Strong SolidWorks 3D modelling skills
- Experience using AlphaCAM (or similar CAM software)
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable experience:
- Experience with 3D machining strategies
- Background in a bespoke or low-volume manufacturing environment
- Previous involvement in process improvement or value engineering
Training: Ongoing training and support will be provided to ensure continued development within the role.
