People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position.
This role will suit applicants looking for work as a HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday
- Start times between 14:00 and 16:00
Rates of Pay:
- 06:00 - 18:00: £16.66 per hour
- 18:00 - 06:00: £20.82 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Safely operating Category C+E vehicles completing 3-5 trunk runs per day
- Operating curtain-sider trailers and securing loads correctly, including awkward loads
- Making timely deliveries to various destinations
- Communicating effectively with the transport team
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and working time directives
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category C+E Licence
- Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum six months continuous Class 1 driving experience
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
- No major endorsement codes
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Professional and reliable attitude
Desirable Experience:
- Experience securing and strapping abnormal loads
- Experience manoeuvring within tight delivery depots
Training Provided:
- Driving assessment required prior to start
- Three-day paid company induction programme
