People Solutions are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Night Drivers to join our well-established retail client based in South Elmsall, Pontefract. This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive pay rates, ongoing work and the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Location: South Elmsall, Pontefract
Shift Pattern: Sunday - Saturday operation (work will include one weekend shift)
Start Times: Between 21:00 - 23:30
Pay Rate: £21.05 - £25.60 per hour

Rates of Pay:
- Sunday to Thursday Nights: £21.05 per hour
- Friday Night: £23.05 per hour
- Saturday Night: £25.60 per hour
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Conduct trunk runs safely and efficiently
- Operate Class 1 vehicles in line with company procedures and road transport regulations
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the unit is clean and well presented
- Safely load and secure all goods before departure
- Adhere to all health, safety, and compliance standards
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category CE Licence (HGV Class 1)
- Minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
- Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum of six penalty points with no major endorsement codes (IN, DR, DD, TT etc.)
- Excellent timekeeping and communication skills
- Professional and reliable work ethic
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience working for a retail haulier is advantageous but not essential
Training:
- All drivers must pass a driving assessment and complete a two-day paid classroom induction
- Successful candidates will also receive further training alongside a core driver
