People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Retail Area Manager to oversee multiple retail store locations within an assigned area, working on behalf of a well-established retail client. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused retail leader who can drive sales performance, ensure operational excellence, and develop high-performing store management teams while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Shifts: Working 5 days from 7, 9am - 6pm (flexibility required to travel across multiple store locations)
Rates of Pay: £15.00 - £18.00 per hour (£31,200 - £37,440 per year) DOE

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Delivering or exceeding sales targets across all assigned stores
- Driving growth in Average Transaction Value, with a focus on premium product ranges
- Maintaining gross margin through effective product mix, markdown control and commercial decision-making
- Ensuring stores operate within agreed wage-to-sales ratios while maintaining service standards
- Analysing performance data and implementing action plans to improve results
You will also:
- Oversee store rotas and cost control to ensure wage budgets are met
- Maintain stock loss and shrinkage within company targets through strong controls and accountability
- Ensure completion of all compliance, cash and operational audits
- Drive high store standards and consistent execution of company processes
- Promote strong operational routines and safe working practices
Leadership & People Management:
- Set clear performance objectives for Store Managers and review progress regularly
- Develop confident and self-sufficient management teams through coaching and support
- Monitor employee turnover and support strong retention levels
- Manage underperformance fairly and in line with company policy
- Proactively manage absence while supporting employee wellbeing
- Act as a role model for company values and leadership behaviours
Customer Experience:
- Drive improvements in customer satisfaction and online reviews
- Ensure customer service standards are consistently delivered
- Manage escalated customer complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Embed a customer-first culture across all stores
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in a multi-site retail management role
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret performance data
- Confident leader with experience developing management teams
- Excellent organisation, planning and prioritisation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable managing performance and change
- Good understanding of retail compliance, health and safety and HR practices
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in a premium or high-end retail environment is advantageous
