People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in the Swadlincote, Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Day to Day Duties
Your duties as a Class 1 Shunter Driver will involve but not be limited to:
- Shunting of 45ft and double deck trailers onto allocated bays
- Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
- Daily yard checks following site rules, health and safety guidelines
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Able to cover trunking routes when required.
As a Class 1 Shunter Driver you will need to:
- Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
- Minimum of six months experience driving and shunting
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
- Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
- Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
- Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
- Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Excellent communication as you will be communicating with both transport and warehouse and using a radio is essential to the role
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Training
- Driver\βs assessment must be completed
- Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
