HGV Class 2 Day Driver in Birmingham

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Day Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday: 06:30 start times

Rates of Pay:

• £14.50 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Complete 4–6 drops per day (curtain-side work)
• Operate and drive Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all loads are correctly secured using ratchet straps
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as required

Essential Skills:

• Valid UK Category C Licence
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category C vehicles
• No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards
• Good spoken and written English
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience

Training Provided:

• Full induction provided prior to starting your first shift
