People Solutions are currently recruiting Order Pickers to join a large, well-established grocery distribution centre based in Bellshill. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term, ongoing night shift work within a fast-paced operation supplying grocery products to stores across the UK.
Location: Bellshill, North Lanarkshire
Shift Pattern: Any 5 days over 7 (including weekends)
Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00
Overtime available after 40 hours per week
Pay Rates – Grocery Nights:
- £15.17 per hour (standard night rate)
- Overtime rate: £19.25 per hour (paid after 40 hours)
- Enhanced double & triple time rates available during peak periods
- Weekly pay every Friday
Training, Registration, Assessment – Important:
- All applicants must be able to commit to the full onboarding process:
- Registration & Site Walk around: Attendance at the Bellshill site is required to complete registration, paperwork, and a walk around of the working environment prior to starting.
- Assessment Start Date: Monday 2nd February
- Training Week (Week 1): Due to trainer availability, training will take place on DAY SHIFT: 06:00 – 14:00
- After successful completion of training, you will move onto your booked night shifts (22:00 – 06:00).
- You must be fully flexible to attend both day-shift training and ongoing night shifts.

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Picking ambient grocery products using handheld scanners
- Building store orders accurately and efficiently
- Moving cages and stock safely around the warehouse
- Manual handling including lifting, bending, and pulling
- Working to pick-rate, accuracy, and quality standards
- Adhering to all health & safety and site procedures
Essential Requirements:
- Availability for night shifts (22:00 – 06:00) on a 5-over-7 basis
- Ability to attend day-shift training (06:00 – 14:00)
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to regular attendance
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to pass a drug & alcohol test prior to induction
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Previous order picking or warehouse experience
- Experience using handheld scanners
