People Solutions are currently recruiting for an EC&I Electrical Site Technician to join our well-established engineering client based in Wolverhampton on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly regulated engineering environment, supporting electrical, control and instrumentation (EC&I) installation, testing, and commissioning activities across the UK.
This position is ideal for candidates with a strong EC&I background who enjoy site-based work and supporting complex engineering projects. It would suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Installation Technician or Electrical Maintenance Technician.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time, site-based (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Day to Day Duties:
- Electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of EC&I systems and equipment
- Control panel assembly and wiring, along with field wiring activities
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Installation, glanding, and termination of multicore, copper, and fibre optic cables
- Carrying out electrical testing including insulation resistance, earth bonding, and point-to-point checks
- Supporting system power-up, functionality testing, and commissioning alongside engineers
- Working closely with site managers, design engineers, and commissioning teams
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and engineering standards
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience working with EC&I systems within an engineering or industrial environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with cable installation, glanding, and termination (multicore, copper, and fibre optic)
- Knowledge of electrical testing procedures including insulation resistance and earth bonding
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience supporting commissioning activities on site
- Experience working within regulated or heavy engineering environments
- Familiarity with control panel assembly and instrumentation systems
