People Solutions are currently recruiting for an FLT Counterbalance Driver to join our well-established client based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. Immediate starts available. Monday to Friday night shifts, no weekend working, weekly pay, and genuine Temp to Perm opportunities for successful candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver looking for ongoing, long-term work within a busy warehouse and logistics environment. This role would suit applicants with previous experience as an FLT Counterbalance Driver, Counterbalance Operator, Forklift Truck Driver, FLT Driver, Warehouse FLT Operative or Forklift Operator.

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday: 20:00 – 05:00 (Nights)
  • Monday to Friday: 21:00 – 06:00 (Nights)

Rates of Pay:

  • £15.12 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties: As an FLT Counterbalance Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Safely operating a Counterbalance FLT to load and unload trailers
  • Moving stock from deliveries and preparing goods for despatch
  • Completing pre-shift safety checks and required documentation
  • Driving safely with consideration to load type, surface conditions, and surrounding environment
  • Ensuring weight distribution is balanced across decks and axles
  • Stacking and storing pallets efficiently while maintaining care and accuracy
  • Reporting any damage to pallets, goods, or equipment immediately
  • Supporting general warehouse operations as required

Essential Skills: To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid RTITB or ITSSAR accredited Counterbalance FLT licence
  • A minimum of two years' experience operating a Counterbalance FLT
  • Experience loading and unloading double-decker trailers
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • A reliable and safety-conscious approach to work

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience
  • Immediate availability
  • Experience working within a fast-paced distribution environment

Training Provided: Full site training with ongoing support throughout your assignment.
