Quality Systems Engineer
Hours of Work
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Friday – 9.00AM – 4.00PM / Monday – Thursday and Friday 9.00AM – 2.00PM (Core Flex)
Salary
- Competitive annual salary – £40,000 – £45,000

Day-to-Day Duties
- Drive the performance of the organisation’s Quality System, ensuring compliance and continual improvement.
- Implement and maintain effective Business Management Systems and procedures across the organisation.
- Support the implementation of APQP processes and maintain documentation to support product and process quality.
- Manage non-conformances, root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Monitor manufacturing performance data, identifying improvements for scrap reduction and right-first-time performance.
- Support responses to customer and supplier quality issues.
- Conduct internal and external audits, managing the annual audit schedule.
- Report on Quality KPIs and contribute to the annual Quality improvement plan.
- Promote the use of Lean tools, supporting improvement activities and events.
- Stay up to date with quality management best practices, methodologies, and regulations.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 year's experience in a Quality Management System role within an ISO9001/AS9100 certified manufacturing environment.
- Trained AS9100 Auditor.
- Strong documentation management and configuration control experience.
- Skilled in APQP, PPAP, FAIR, and other quality methodologies.
- Proficient in auditing management systems and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a detail-focused, methodical approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Driving licence and ability to travel at short notice.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Lean manufacturing tools such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Gantt charts, and Project Charters.
- Experience in ERP systems to support process quality.
