Job Description

PROCESS ENGINEER 

MONDAY – THURSDAY: 8.30AM – 5.00PM & FRIDAY: 8.30AM – 3.30PM

ANNUAL SALARY BETWEEN £40,000 – £45,000

Day to Day Duties

  • Complete day-to-day Process Engineering activities in the Diamorph CPM Group (Manchester) Value Stream
  • Use standardised Process Engineering tools and processes for consistent execution
  • Complete PFMEA and Control Plan activities to implement effective process controls
  • Develop and maintain detailed production process maps and improvement plans
  • Ensure Standard Operating Instructions (SOPs) are live and up-to-date
  • Monitor and analyse manufacturing process data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to drive operational performance improvements
  • Implement process control measures including SPC techniques
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to improve OEE
  • Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision making
  • Support introduction of new products and processes, working cross-functionally
  • Participate in Lean improvement events
  • Assist cross-functional teams with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures
  • Utilise the Business Management System (BMS) for Process Engineering functions
  • Support development and implementation of procedures and policies
  • Report on Process Engineering KPIs and annual improvement plans
  • Support internal and external audit schedules
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain close working relationships with the value stream team
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests from the Company

Essential Skills

  • Significant Process Engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Skilled in Yamazumi, Time-study (MOST), SOPs, Value Stream Mapping, SPC, Spaghetti diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T

Desirable Skills

  • Experience designing and implementing new processes
  • Lean manufacturing methodologies (Single Piece Flow, Jidoka, SMED, 5S)
  • Project management tools (Microsoft Project, Gantt charts, Project Charters)
  • Knowledge of APQP processes: PPAP, PSW, PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs
