Job Description
WAREHOUSE MANAGER / TEAM LEADER – NIGHT SHIFT
SUNDAY – THURSDAY: 8PM – 6AM
£35,000 PER ANNUM
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a WAREHOUSE MANAGER (Nights) to join our well-established SME client based in LEICESTER on a full-time permanent basis.

Day to Day Duties
- Oversee night shift operations including goods receiving, storage, and dispatch for a small team of approximately twenty people
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve performance goals.
- Monitor and improve operational processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain the security of the warehouse, staff, and stock during night hours.
- Liaise with other shift managers and departments to ensure smooth handovers and continuous operations.
- Monitor team performance and conduct regular briefings and coaching as needed.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues arising during the shift.
- Prepare reports on shift performance and any incidents.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role, ideally on night shifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, and dispatch.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate teams to achieve performance targets.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and warehouse security requirements.
- Competence with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with other departments and ensure smooth handovers.
- Experience in conducting briefings, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock control and reporting.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to operational demands.
Desirable Experience
- Formal qualifications in Warehouse Management, Logistics, or Supervisory Leadership.
- Experience with continuous improvement / lean processes to drive efficiency.
- Knowledge of automated warehouse systems or advanced stock control systems.
- First Aid, Fire Marshall, or Health & Safety certifications.
- FLT licence or experience operating MHE (Material Handling Equipment)
