HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – SOLIHULL
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods, offering excellent pay rates and ongoing, long-term work.
ShiftsMonday to Sunday – 5 out of 7Start times between 03:00 and 06:00
Rates of PayMonday to Friday: £17.00 per hourSaturday: £18.00 per hourSunday: £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day DutiesAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
-
Safely operating and driving Category C+E vehicles
-
Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
-
Ensuring all cargo is loaded securely and safely
-
Adhering to UK traffic laws and safety regulations
-
Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
-
Maintaining accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery paperwork
-
Reporting any defects or maintenance issues immediately
-
Assisting with loading and unloading where required
Essential SkillsTo be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

A valid UK Category C+E licence
-
Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
-
No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
-
Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
-
Ability to read and speak English to a safe working level

Experience operating various trailer types

Excellent punctuality and time-keeping skills

Strong communication skills

Flexibility to work overtime when required

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
