Job Description

CLASS 1 DRIVER

Hours: Monday to Friday - Days from 06:00 & Nights from 18:00

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in the WALSALL, WEST MIDLANDS. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Rates of Pay:

  • Monday to Friday days £15.80 per hour & Nights - £16.80 per hour
  • Saturday: Days £16.30 per hour - Nights £17.30 per hour
  • Sunday : Days £16.50 per hour - Nights £17.50 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • Must have container experience
  • Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management

Essential Skills:

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence 
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes 
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must have container experience

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in containers

Training:

  • Support offered throughout assigment
