Day to Day Duties:
- Develop innovative design concepts aligned with product specifications and customer requirements
- Create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Conduct simulations and tests to validate product performance and recommend improvements
- Build and test prototypes to ensure alignment with design intent
- Collaborate with internal teams including manufacturing, sales, quality assurance and marketing
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, reports and specifications
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and implement design enhancements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Essential Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in a design engineering role, ideally within fenestration hardware or a related industry
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D and 3D design
- Strong understanding of simulation and testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage design timelines and meet deadlines
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in the fenestration industry or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with additional engineering software or tools
