People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This role is ideal for experienced drivers looking for consistent day-shift work.

This role will suit applicants looking for work as a HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or C Driver.

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
  • AM start times between 05:00 – 08:00

Rates of Pay:

  • £15.00 - £17.00 per hour Monday to Friday
  • £18.00 per hour weekends

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Completing Class 2 deliveries
  • Operating Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring goods are loaded and secured correctly
  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

  • Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
  • Minimum 24 months Class 2 driving experience
  • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
  • No major endorsement codes
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous commercial driving experience

Training Provided:

  • Driver assessment required prior to starting
  • One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
  • Ongoing industry-related training and support
