The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
We are seeking a reliable personal assistant to provide daily support for a highly intelligent, friendly 41-year-old married mother following a brain injury. This is secondary to recent autoimmune inflammatory illness. The illness is stable with current medication regime but requires regular follow ups. No personal or childcare is required. Guidance has been provided by a neuropsychologist using a cognitive rehabilitation approach and there will be opportunity for guidance and reviewing of the strategies suggested. Work is primarily in and around the individual’s home and surrounding community in the CW6 area near Bunbury.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
- 15 hours/week (this could be negotiable for the right candidate)
- £15.31/hour (this could be negotiable for the right candidate)
Main Duties:
- Practical support following neuropsychological recommendations to support her attention and executive functioning abilities in day-to-day life e.g. help with organisation of activities, activity planning, practical problem solving to help her successfully engage in activities she values (health/fitness classes, being outdoors in nature, horse riding, dog walking, family).
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Always ensure the individual’s safety.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks related to the individual’s living space.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual’s dignity and independence.
Personal Assistant Specification:
- Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license (as transportation is required for the role).
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Must be comfortable around a friendly dog and ideally horses.
- DBS check will be required.
- Assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
- Assistant must respect privacy and always maintain dignity.
- Assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
- You must be able to work well independently.
- Personal assistant is accountable in all aspects of their work.
- They should always ask what needs are and listen to directions and requests.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be funded through employer.
