Job Purpose: To support my child within the home or accessing social opportunities within the community. My child is in his 3rd year at school. He is autistic, non-verbal, and would need support with personal care needs. He is a very happy, cheerful boy and loves music, water and interacting with adults. He needs a little support with walking/steps, and does have a wheelchair for longer walks or outings.

Work Duties will include:

  • Identify local social activities
  • Motivating and encouraging them to take part and try new things
  • Helping them to develop social skills
  • Support in the home to do different activities
  • Access his community and community activities
  • Supporting the child during family outings
  • Personal care
  • Transporting child to and from identified activities

Other requirements:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the child and their parents, maintaining confidentiality
  • Always ensuring the safety of the child

Requirements for applicant:

  • Imagination in relation to activities to undertake
  • Good sense of humour
  • Flexible, reliable and honest
  • Physically fit, agile and energetic
  • Understanding of autism essential
  • Ability to utilise a range of communication methods, including signs and visual prompts
  • DBS Check will be completed

Pay: £12.21 per hour Term Time, 6 hours; Non-Term Time - 8 hours
