Personal Assistant for Transport twice weekly. I am a 19 year old young boy with a diagnosis of autism, moderate to severe learning disability and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I attend a college in Bridgend Monday to Friday and need an assistant to transport me to and from. The job will require pick up from Bridgend College every Friday at 4pm with transport back to Merthyr Vale. Then on a Sunday evening at 7pm pick up from home (Merthyr Vale) to return to Bridgend college.
All mileage will be paid at £0.40 pence per mile and the route is approximately 32 miles each way and 50 minutes each way. The PA will be paid 6 hours per week at a rate of £14 per hour.
I am able to communicate verbally, although this ability is hampered by my hyperactivity and echolalia (repeating of phrases). It has been asked to stress that a male carer may be more suitable as I have a history of sexualised behaviour. I can sometimes make sexualised comments.
Working Hours/Rate of pay: £14.00 and £0.40 pence per mile for any mileage, 6 hours per week term time (39 weeks per annum).
