The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.
We are looking for a PA for a child who has multiple complex needs. The child has a diagnosis of severe global developmental delay, bilateral subtle perisylvanian, polymicrogyria, subependymal/periventricular nodular heterotopia, macrocephaly, hypospadias, epilepsy (from 4 months) and scoliosis. The child wears a brace for 24 hours a day. The child is non-mobile, a full-time wheelchair user, and non-verbal. The PA would need to learn the child’s likes/dislikes and cues for their needs.
Hours
- 4 hours a week in term time
- 8 hours a week in school holidays
- 12 x 12 hours night shift per year
Shifts
Part-time, flexible hours/days (to be mutually agreed). They may vary due to commitments.
Rate of Pay
£12.21 per hour
Outline of role
To provide support and assistance to my child, to enable him to achieve maximum personal benefit from their everyday life.
Tasks
- Personal tasks
- Administer emergency medication Buccolam if the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes.
- Help with dressing
- Help with showering
- Help changing pads
- Help with getting from the bed to the feeding chair or wheelchair
- Help with feeding
- Attending to child’s care needs: changing, dressing, washing, eating and drinking
- Stay and play at home with my son or go outside for a walk
- Stimulation within and outside the home
- Social activities and adventures
As and when I ask: Assisting my son to participate in various social activities, as per my instructions. This may include going to clubs, the cinema, swimming, bowling, going shopping, attending classes, sporting activities, meeting friends, trips to the park, etc.
