Purpose of the job: To recruit a Personal Assistant/ Carer
Hours and pay:
- £ per hour for hours of care per week.
- Days of working to be agreed with employer.
- Days of work: Mon - Fri
- Hours: 11am - 2pm
Main Duties:
- Having a wash and getting dressed: client has poor balance and is at high risk of falls.
- Liaising with client about what they would like to eat and drink for breakfast and doing this meal and drink prep for them.
- Liaising with client about what they would like to eat and drink for lunch and doing this meal and drink prep for them.
- Shopping for food and other items as needed for Paul.
- Supporting Paul / accompanying Paul to hospital and other appointments.
- Supporting Paul with phone calls and linking in with professionals.
- Supporting Paul re correspondence e.g. opening correspondence with him when he agrees to this, and helping/doing follow-up actions e.g. phone calls.
- Cleaning his flat: kitchen, living room, corridor, bathroom, bedroom.
- Doing other domestic tasks as needed on a daily basis according to Paul's level of needs with other tasks on any day: e.g. putting rubbish out; washing-up; drying-up; putting away; tidying up; making Paul's bed; helping with laundry as needed.
- Going to the Pharmacy to pick-up meds for Paul, when needed.
- Liaising with Pharmacy for Paul (by phone/in person).
Personal Assistant Specification:
- My assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
- My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
- My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
- You must be able to work well independently.
- My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work.
- They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
