My son is a fun loving boy with speech and language delays. He can be stubborn and will run off at times. He loves music, dancing, and playing football. The role requires a driving licence, own car, and the ability to swim. Some knowledge of Makaton and experience working with special needs children with challenging behaviour is necessary.
Outline of role: To provide support and assistance to my child, enabling him to achieve maximum personal benefit from his everyday life.
Responsible to: Frida Melillo
Tasks:
- Help with dressing and undressing.
- Help with using the toilet and changing pull-ups.
- Getting out of the car into a wheelchair.
General tasks: On a regular basis, as requested by me.
- Help with homework and playing with puzzles, drawing, and ball games.
- Weather permitting, playing outside.
Social activities: Assisting my son to participate in various social activities, as per my instructions. This may include going to clubs, the cinema, swimming, bowling, shopping, sports activities, meeting friends, trips to the park, attending classes, etc. This is not an exhaustive list of everything that I may ask you to do. Provided that my request is reasonable, I expect you to follow my instructions.
