Due to expansion we are recruiting for an experienced Product Development Technician. As part of the PD Team, you will have a key role in developing products and ranges to meet customer and tender requirements for a market leader in the provision of high quality, innovative and specialist protective clothing. We’re looking for a solid garment technical background and experience of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have practical experience of technical clothing, and an understanding of regulatory standards and fabric performance. If you have a passion for technical clothing and the necessary skills, this is your opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, where you can share and expand your existing knowledge, and gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle. Product Development Technician – Key Responsibilities: * Develop accurate product specifications and support the sample and pattern process at with offshore factories. * Evaluate samples effectively, providing detailed feedback to ensure product quality. * Collaborate closely with the Sales team, Supply Chain team, and manufacturers throughout the process, from concept to bulk production. * Apply attention to detail in reviewing size charts and performing garment analysis. * Visit owned factory to develop new styles and provide advisory support, including 3rd party vendors and suppliers. Product Development Technician – Skills and Qualifications: * Strong organizational skills. * Proficiency in Excel, Word, and vector drawing software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. * Excellent communication skills. * Knowledge of garment construction and sewing ability. * Technical experience with performance apparel ie. waterproof/taped seams, fire safety/protective clothing. * Willingness to travel as needed. * Full driving license
