The Product Developer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development process of workwear apparel, ensuring that designs are translated into commercially viable, high-quality garments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and collaboration with design, sourcing, and production teams to deliver products that meet brand standards, cost targets, and timelines. We’re looking for a collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally, a passion for pushing innovation and continuous improvement. In return, you will have access to onsite sampling and a production unit as well as liaison with our offshore factory. This role will be full time onsite, and a new addition to a growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and translate design concepts into detailed workwear technical specifications using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
  • Develop prototypes and samples, ensuring fit, functionality, and compliance with brand standards.
  • Conduct garment fittings and provide technical feedback to suppliers and factories.
  • Identify and source fabrics, trims, and components suitable for workwear requirements.
  • Manage lab-dips, trim developments, fabrics and monitor product quality throughout development stages.
  • Ensure materials meet durability, safety, and performance standards.
  • Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure accurate interpretation of product requirements.
  • Ensure product compliance with relevant regulations and certifications (e.g. PPE standards for workwear).
  • Manage critical path timelines from concept to bulk production.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and product data.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Apparel Design, Textile/Garment Technology or related field.
  • Proven 3-5 years’ experience in product development within fashion or workwear sectors.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of performance fabrics and safety standards desirable.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CAD systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and cost-conscious approach.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
