Assistant Designer – Sportswear Brand – Job Outline

* Working with a Senior Designer to design & evolve in house collections in line with the brand aesthetic. The range is mainly menswear orientated, and does include some accessories.

* Identify emerging trends and potential gaps in product range, capitalise on gaps by proposing appropriate fabrics, styling options and newness to the range.

* Conduct market/competitor research to gather relevant information for product design and report.

* Raise and update design tech packs and check samples against them.

* Manage sample developments, working closely with Technical Team, suppliers and production sites, to monitor progress though sample trackers and ensuring samples are delivered in time for range build and sign off meetings.

Assistant Designer – Sportswear Brand – Required Skills & Experience

* Degree or relevant qualification in fashion or sportswear design.

* 2 years’ experience within a similar design/product development.

* A portfolio demonstrating an understanding for sports lifestyle apparel.

* Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; CLO 3D experience is a plus.

* Strong product development knowledge and understanding of garment construction.

* Good commercial awareness of fabric and trim costings.

* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

* Experience working with offshore production and supply chains. xiskglj
