Working within an established Raw Materials team for a global group of apparel brands, this is a truly exciting entry level role into the department. You will be degree educated, and must be able to demonstrate some technical understanding and a strong interest in a career focused in raw materials, colour, fabric management & sustainability.
Trainee Raw Materials Technologist Responsibilities may include:
- Working alongside the design and purchasing team under guidance from the raw materials technologists, sourcing and developing a range of product types including warp / weft fabrics, elastics, laces and embroideries and a range of components.
- Contributing to the colour approval process to ensure lab dyes and 1st bulk are approved to meet the business critical path.
- Maintaining and evolving processes for inputting electronic product/colour and care label information within internal platforms including PLM, Portal and ERP systems.
- Data Management of raw materials and raw material attributes.
- Interact with designers, technologists & suppliers to facilitate accurate transfer of information.
- Manage the critical path collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders to ensure on time delivery.
- Working in conjunction with the supply chain, assisting in trouble-shooting and problem-solving on raw material technical and QC issues.
- Clearly communicating technical issues and solutions with suppliers and manufacturing locations.
- Assist factories to resolve technical issues found upon delivery, whilst keeping supply chain colleagues informed of potential impact to production schedule.
- Liaise with internal departments to manage and improve processes.
Trainee Raw Materials Technologist Skills & Experience:
- Degree educated in Fabric, Textiles or Garment related subject.
- Able to demonstrate a good technical understanding of fabric fundamentals.
- Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Demonstrate a passion to grow technical knowledge within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent team player, happy to get involved with the ability to communicate well.
- Confident proficiency in MS Office.
- Full UK Right to Work, we are unable to consider PSW or sponsorship.
