We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Manager to lead the development and production of garments from prototype through bulk delivery. Serving as the technical expert, providing guidance and solutions to technical challenges. Ensuring all garments meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations—all while optimizing manufacturing processes across a global manufacturing/supply base.

Technical Manager – Job Outline

  • Oversee garment engineering, construction methods, and technical development for all product categories.
  • Working closely with other teams (e.g., product, design, sales) to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Similarly working with factories & supply base to ensure feasibility, continuous improvement in quality, innovation and speed to market.
  • Management of the approvals process (proto, SMS, PPS) and provide actionable feedback to factories and suppliers.
  • Lead fit sessions and maintain consistent fit and construction standards.
  • Monitor production timelines and resolve technical issues with factories Implement and maintain efficient QC procedures and compliance standards.
  • Ownership of the technical manual Evaluate factory capabilities and contribute to vendor development strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
  • Travel on a regular basis to visit production and liaise with offshore teams across ASIA.
  • Management of a technical team, providing support, and fostering professional development.

Technical Manager – Skills & Qualifications

The ideal applicant will be currently be in a similar Technical Manager or Senior Garment Technologist position and who has accountability for a department and supervision of a team or others.

  • A background with supplier environment and with direct manufacturing experience
  • Background within similar supplier environment is essential.
  • Excellent product technical knowledge gained in UK & off shore retail/manufacturing environment covering all areas from testing, construction, fitting, sealing, production and supply chain management.
