An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Womenswear Jersey & Nightwear Designer to join a growing business in Leicestershire and working with leading retailers across the UK and Europe.
This role is perfect for a confident, creative and commercially minded designer who thrives on innovation, enjoys translating inspiration into successful product ranges, and has a strong ability to identify emerging trends and future bestsellers.
As a key member of the design team, you will take ownership of the Jersey and Nightwear collections, leading the design process from initial concept through to final product.
You will research and interpret market and fashion trends, develop seasonal concepts, and create commercially relevant collections that align with customer needs and business objectives.
Working closely with the sourcing and product development teams, you will ensure designs are both trend-led and commercially viable, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, fit, and value.
- Womenswear Jersey & Nightwear Designer - The Role
- Researching fashion, colour, fabric and lifestyle trends to identify new product opportunities.
- Creating fresh, trend-led Jersey and Nightwear concepts with strong commercial appeal.
- Developing seasonal ranges, mood boards and customer presentations.
- Producing CADs, technical packs and detailed design specifications.
- Working closely with sourcing and product development teams throughout the sampling process.
- Exploring new fabrics, silhouettes and product ideas to keep collections moving forward.
- Presenting concepts and ideas confidently to both internal teams and customers.
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Keeping up to date with competitors, retailers and changing customer trends.
- Womenswear Jersey & Nightwear Designer - The Person
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in womenswear design, ideally within Jersey and/or Nightwear.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
- A good understanding of fabrics, garment construction and product development.
- A commercial eye and the ability to translate trends into sellable product.
- Confidence in presenting ideas and building strong working relationships.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both creativity and commercial awareness
- Confident, enthusiastic and can do attitude and works well within a team.
