This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business within their Womenswear division, to focus on trend led Jerseywear. I am on the hunt for a commercially minded Senior Designer for this exciting opportunity, with this great high street supplier based in Leicestershire. I am looking for aspirational portfolios which explore future trends and interesting new shapes for Women's fashion, whilst also being commercial.
You will have passion and drive to grow accounts, and build key partnerships with Buyers, as well as internal teams.
The Role:- Design commercial, fashion focused womenswear Jersey, across casual and formal.
- Researching and identifying latest key trends, catwalk influences to inspire and develop new ranges, and to complement and drive forward existing product lines.
- Liaise with Buyers on all aspects of design work and in turn help to develop product that is right for the customer by working with all of the product, fabric and graphic teams.
- Ensure the critical path is adhered to, and keep on top of all key dates.
- Liaise with factories and overseas offices.
- Working closely with buying and merchandising teams to source, present and select commercial ranges.
- Attend inspiration and sourcing trips overseas, as and when required.
- Mentor and guide Junior members on the team, providing support where necessary.
- Must have solid previous womenswear design experience working within jerseywear, either at Senior level, or an advanced middle-weight looking to step up.
- Must have a key eye for trends, and translating into commercial collections.
- Highly organised, confident communicator, experienced in managing priorities and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proficient on Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, being adaptable to change.
- Have experience of working closely with overseas factories.
- You must also be an effective communicator & team player, where you will be confident at building good internal and external relationships.
- Happy to travel regularly to overseas factories and suppliers.
