My client is an established supplier to high street and online fashion retailers across multiple product areas and apparel.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic trainee / junior designer to join the Childrenswear design team. You will be responsible for trend research, designing and development of the products, and providing integral support with the factories, but also the wider design team.We are looking for a design candidate with some design experience / internship.
Trainee / Junior Childrenswear Designer- The Role
- Generate and maintain a high standard of design and design development within the customer and brief, adhering to strict deadlines
- Stay up to date with latest trends by attending regular store visits, and shop reports
- Coordinate with the wider team to ensure price needs are met at the design stage
- Liaise with the technical team to ensure specs are a correct representation of the design
- Create and send new sample requests, clear and detailed tech packs, style details and artwork to the factories
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the customer base when creating designs
- Respond to customer and factory queries
- Liaise with Licensors and assist with checking License approvals including concept, strike offs and PP sample uploads obtaining full product approval
- Assist the design team with ad hoc administration duties.
- Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for garments.
Trainee / Junior Childrenswear Designer – The Candidate
- Previous licensing experience is not essential but beneficial
- Ideal candidate will have industry Design experience /internship
- Educated to degree level in fashion, or fashion related design
- Creative and trend driven
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player and able to build relationships.
