This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business, where you will be working on trend led apparel for younger and older girls. You will be working with a large UK manufacturer, who continuously go from strength to strength. They are looking to appoint a talented Girlswear Designer into their team in Manchester, where you research trends for both shape and print, and create commercial and exciting products. If you like to travel, this supplier will definitely allow you to do this! Be it for inspiration trips, factory visits, or going to trade fairs, you will be going.

Girlswear Designer – The Role:

  • Design commercial trend inspired girlswear collections for one of the largest and most exciting high street retailers.
  • Research and identify latest key trends, catwalk influences to inspire and develop new ranges, and to complement and drive forward existing product lines.
  • Sourcing of relevant fabrics to meet the design requirements.
  • Creating specs/tech packs for our factories.
  • Ensuring critical path is adhered to, and keep on top of all key dates.
  • Liaising with factories and overseas offices.
  • Working closely with buying and merchandising teams to source, present and select commercial ranges.
  • Attend inspiration and sourcing trips overseas, as and when required.

Girlswear Designer - The Candidate:

  • Must have previous experience of Girlswear design, and have a thorough understanding of Childrenswear trend.
  • Creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour and fabric.
  • You will be a well organised, confident communicator, and experienced in managing priorities and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Must be a people person - you will be able to build new, and maintain existing relationships with Buyers.
  • Proficient on Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Have experience of working closely with overseas factories.
  • Happy to travel regularly to overseas factories.
