Overview
This is a varied HR position where you’ll play a central role in how the business attracts, brings in, and supports its people. The role blends hands‑on recruitment, onboarding ownership, and generalist HR support, with plenty of opportunity to refine and shape processes.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and hiring
- Partner with stakeholders to scope vacancies and align on hiring needs.
- Manage recruitment activity from initial brief to offer stage.
- Direct source candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, and personal networks.
- Oversee interview coordination and selection processes.
- Keep hiring activity organised, tracked, and reportable.
- Build talent pools to support future or recurring hires.
- Support early talent initiatives, including graduate and internship pipelines.
- Engage with universities and external partners to strengthen attraction strategies.
New joiner experience
- Prepare offers, contracts, and associated documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics, including systems access and internal setup.
- Act as the main HR contact for new starters during their initial period.
- Deliver structured inductions and ensure consistency across teams.
- Support managers in building effective onboarding plans.
- Track probation progress and ensure reviews are completed.
- Continuously refine the onboarding experience based on feedback and outcomes.
HR support & day‑to‑day operations
- Advise on employee relations matters such as absence, performance, and conduct.
- Support managers through informal and formal processes.
- Maintain HR systems, ensuring accurate and compliant data management.
- Provide updates to payroll and support core HR administration.
- Contribute to engagement activity and internal communications.
Projects & process improvement
- Review and enhance HR and recruitment processes.
- Support initiatives across talent, development, and inclusion.
- Produce insights and reports on hiring activity and workforce trends.
- Keep up to date with market movements to inform hiring decisions.
- Support wider HR projects and collaborate across the team.
Qualifications
- Experience across both internal recruitment and HR advisory in a fast‑paced environment.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR fundamentals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Confident communicator, comfortable influencing and advising managers.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information.
- Comfortable using HR systems, ATS platforms, and sourcing tools.
