We are partnering with a well-established SME consultancy business in Portsmouth to appoint a Part-Time HR Manager / Senior HR Generalist to lead and deliver a fully rounded HR service. The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the end-to-end HR life cycle, providing practical, commercially focused HR support across the business. This is a true generalist role where you will balance operational delivery with trusted advisory support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive HR support across all areas of the employee lifecycle
- Act as a trusted partner to managers, advising on performance, conduct, and day-to-day people challenges.
- Lead on employee relations cases, ensuring risk is managed appropriately and outcomes are fair and compliant
- Support recruitment activity, ensuring effective and consistent hiring processes
- Maintain and develop HR policies and procedures aligned to employment legislation and business needs
- Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused HR guidance that aligns with commercial objectives
- Monitor and mitigate employment risk across the organisation
About You
- Experienced HR professional operating at Manager or Senior Advisor/Generalist level.
- Comfortable working in a standalone HR role within an SME environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident handling a broad range of HR elements including employee relations, policy, process, reward
- Commercially astute with a practical approach
- Able to build credibility quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels
