Westminster is a global city stage – home to over 200,000 residents while simultaneously welcoming up to a million visitors every single day. It is a fast‑paced, highly visible and uniquely complex place, and that is what makes this organisation such a compelling place to develop your career.
What sets Westminster apart is how it works. There is a deeply embedded culture of empowerment and trust which shapes the day‑to‑day experience of staff. Through ‘Our Westminster Way’, the Councils cultural framework, staff are encouraged to innovate, solve complex challenges and shape outcomes.
Our culture is underpinned by strong and visible commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Bringing together people from different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences is not just an aspiration – it is a necessity.
There has never been a more exciting time to join the organisation. We are currently undergoing a significant period of transformation, and the ‘Fit for the Future’ programme will reshape how our services are delivered. This is an opportunity to influence that evolution, helping the council to innovate and design and implement the next generation of solutions.
We truly recognise the value and importance of People & Culture functions in delivering our organisational objectives. That is why organisational development and people remain at the heart of what we do and how we do it. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working in close partnership with the Chief Executive, you will shape and deliver a progressive people strategy that drives organisational performance and culture.
You will play a pivotal role in leading our People, Talent & Development, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and Employee Experience priorities, ensuring they are future‑focused, data‑informed, and aligned to our mission and values.
If you are comfortable not only leading through complexity and challenge but are energised by it and are as passionate as we are about people and culture, then we want to hear from you.
