We’re working with an award-winning communications agency rooted in sport — working at the intersection of fans, culture, competition and storytelling. The agency partners with globally recognised sports brands, governing bodies and rightsholders, delivering insight-led campaigns that connect with audiences across consumer, grassroots and business communities.

Building an inclusive, people-first culture is a priority. The agency partners with organisations such as BCOMS and 10,000 Black Interns, runs a reverse mentoring programme designed to elevate lived experience and learning across levels, and supports flexible observance of religious holidays so team members can align time off with their own faith traditions.

The Opportunity: We’re looking for an ambitious and collaborative Senior Account Director to join a fast-growing independent sports communications agency. This role sits within the extended senior leadership group, leading high-profile client relationships and shaping strategically led, earned-first campaigns that cut through a fast-moving media landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Act as a senior strategic lead across multiple client accounts
  • Oversee the conception and delivery of integrated, insight-led campaigns
  • Lead media relations, brand collaborations, influencer engagement and experiential activations
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to client objectives
  • Provide senior counsel to clients and internal teams
  • Line manage and mentor junior team members, supporting their development and progression
  • Play an active role in shaping agency culture alongside other senior leaders
  • Support resourcing and team planning conversations
  • Contribute to new business opportunities, from pitch development through to presentation
  • Support organic growth across your client portfolio
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership on strategic direction and agency growth

About You:

  • Proven experience leading client relationships within a sports communications or related agency environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and guide teams
  • Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills
  • Confident presenter with experience contributing to new business pitches
  • Passion for earned-first storytelling and creative campaign thinking
  • Able to commute to the Shoreditch office Tuesday to Thursday

Benefits and Perks:

  • Discretionary annual profit share scheme linked to business performance
  • Pension matched to 3%
  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working with Monday and Friday as work-from-home days
  • Time off in lieu for weekend client events
  • Seasonal office closure over the Christmas period (subject to client work)
  • Private medical insurance
  • Flexible benefits platform
  • Life insurance (four times annual salary)
  • Travel season ticket loan
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Ongoing training and development, including Lunch and Learn sessions
  • ‘For You’ Day – one additional day each year for personal wellbeing or passions
  • £250 annual sporting experience allowance
  • Quarterly team socials, annual away day and end-of-year celebration
