People Insight is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our growing team. As BDM, you will own and grow a high-value pipeline of mid-market and enterprise opportunities via targeted outbound activity. You’ll engage senior HR leaders and C-suite stakeholders, showcasing how People Insight’s AI-powered employee experience platform, combined with expert consultancy, helps organisations turn listening into meaningful action. Beyond winning new business, you’ll play a visible role in shaping our sales strategy, accelerating growth in priority sectors, and raising standards across the commercial team through coaching and deal support. This is a role for a commercially astute, confident seller who enjoys complex, consultative sales and wants to influence how a fast-growing, values-led business scales.

Responsibilities

  • Building, owning and closing a high-value pipeline across outbound and inbound opportunities, with a new business sales target of £500k ARR (With a ramping target for year 1)
  • Developing deep expertise and momentum in two strategic target sectors (e.g. Hospitality, Construction, Retail)
  • Designing commercially robust proposals and pitches tailored to complex organisational needs
  • Leading compelling pitches and demos of People Insight’s employee experience platform and consultancy services
  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with HR Directors, Chief People Officers and senior stakeholders within your target accounts
  • Working closely with our Consultancy and Client Services teams to ensure a smooth handover and strong client onboarding experience
  • Partnering with the CRM / Account Management team to expand and deepen existing client relationships
  • Working with the Head of New Business in evolving and executing our outbound sales strategy
  • Staying up to date on AI, market trends, competition, and industry developments
  • Providing regular reports on sales activities and results to management

Requirements and skills

  • Highly desirable: 3+ years of experience in a sales role at a SaaS company with an HR focused offering
  • Track record of consistently meeting and exceeding targets, especially within complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, being able to think strategically during sales negotiations
  • Highly organised, positive and resilient
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with prospects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies & appetite to grow

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £55,000 p.a. base salary (OTE c.£60,000- £75,000 uncapped)
  • Annual leave starting at 28 days + bank holidays + 2 days/year PTO for volunteering + 1 day off for every 5 years worked
