Role Overview

We have exclusively partnered with a Principal Contractor to large multinational Data centre owners such as Google, Microsoft, Vantage and Amazon to provide the design, build and energisation of new connections up-to 132kv across the UK. They are looking for a Pre-Construction Project Manager to support projects outside of the M25 on a hybrid basis, that will oversee the early stage works necessary to deliver their major power and civils projects, encompassing complex utility infrastructure and cable installation works. Working as part of a top-tier pre-construction team and reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, this role spans planning, operations, compliance and commercial delivery, with responsibility for safety, quality, cost and programme – ensuring maximum performance on projects, within budget, and seamlessly nurturing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end management and oversight of multiple power and civils projects, from inception to handover to design teams, seamlessly managing resource planning, logistics and scheduling throughout.
  • Leading on site surveys, feasibility, and operations for HV/EHV civil and cable installation.
  • Responsible for the quality, safety, programme, and delivery of your projects, within budget and in line with planned development milestones.
  • Accurate record keeping, sharing regular progress reviews and work plans, as well as filing compliance documentation and data sheets.
  • A clear focus on safety - SHEQ policies to be promoted and instilled with teams across all projects, with monthly SHEQ and RAM audits, monthly inspections, near-miss reporting and leading on zero-harm initiatives.
  • Use of NEC/JCT/ICC/Bespoke frameworks to manage contracts.
  • Working collaboratively within the business, ensuring a clear and regular channel of communication between internal and external stakeholders, clients and partners.
