Are you a project-focused Building Surveyor? Want to work with autonomy, flexibility and genuine responsibility? I’m working with one of London’s fastest-growing independent construction and property consultancies, who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to play a key role across their Commercial and Education service lines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project-focused Building Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership, building client relationships and delivering high-quality projects from inception through to completion.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a modern, forward-thinking consultancy with an established client base and a strong pipeline of work across the commercial and education sectors. You’ll have the autonomy to lead projects, manage clients and support the continued growth of these service lines. The role offers genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make an impact rather than simply becoming another member of a large team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead refurbishment, fit-out, extension and capital projects from inception through to completion.
  • Undertake Contract Administration and Employer’s Agent duties.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
  • Manage project costs, programmes and risk.
  • Provide professional Building Surveying advice to commercial and education clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Support business development and the continued growth of the service lines.

About You

We’re looking for a Senior Building Surveyor with a strong project delivery background, ideally coming from a Building Surveying consultancy environment. You will ideally have experience across:

  • Contract Administration
  • Project Management
  • Design & Specification
  • Refurbishment and capital works
  • Commercial and/or Education projects
  • Client-facing consultancy
  • Stakeholder management

You must be either Chartered MRICS or MAPM, with an ideal background in Building Surveying and a strong understanding of project delivery. Education experience is advantageous but not essential. What matters is your technical capability, commercial awareness, client management skills and ability to take ownership of projects.

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive salary with annual reviews
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Private healthcare
  • Pension contribution
  • Professional memberships paid
  • Ongoing CPD and career development
  • Clear progression into Associate and beyond
  • Opportunity to play a key role in growing the Commercial and Education service lines

If you’re looking for a role where you can take ownership, work on meaningful projects and have genuine influence within an ambitious consultancy, I’d be delighted to tell you more.
