People Group is currently supporting a growing construction consultancy in the search for a Health & Safety Consultant / CDM Principal Designer to join their expanding team. This opportunity would suit an ambitious and commercially aware H&S professional who enjoys working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors across a varied project portfolio. The role offers exposure to commercial, industrial, retail, and mixed-use schemes, providing the chance to work on high-profile developments from pre-construction through to completion.
The successful candidate will take a lead role delivering CDM Principal Designer services while also supporting clients with Building Safety Act (BSA) compliance and advisory matters.
The Role- Deliver a comprehensive range of CDM 2015 services
- Act as Principal Designer across multiple live projects
- Carry out site inspections and review RAMS
- Prepare and review construction phase plans
- Manage and maintain design risk registers
- Provide detailed health & safety and compliance advice to clients
- Support clients with Building Safety Act and BSA-related matters
- Liaise with architects, contractors, developers, and consultants
- Identify opportunities to improve project safety and compliance standards
- Support compliance throughout the full project lifecycle
- Previous consultancy experience within construction health & safety
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
- Knowledge or practical experience of the Building Safety Act (BSA)
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Membership of IOSH, APS, IIRSM, or a similar professional body
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Full UK driving licence
