Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor looking for a role with clear development opportunities? A position that will help you become a well-rounded commercial professional, rather than pigeonholing you into a narrow set of tasks or responsibilities?
We are working with a highly regarded Principal Civil Engineering Contractor who is looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their established, high-performing commercial team of 13. In this role, you will play a key part in the delivery of a £50m civils project being constructed within a live operational environment, providing a varied, engaging, and technically challenging workload. The project is delivered under the NEC4 form of contract, primarily using Options A and C.
Initially, your focus will be on the procurement of a wide range of subcontract packages, followed by the post appointment management of these contracts, which will make up approximately 80% of the overall project value. The medium to longer term strategy will be to rotate you onto another live project, or into a role supporting ECI development. This approach is designed to broaden your experience and build capability across other key areas of quantity surveying, including upstream reporting, change management, and cost planning.
This project sits within a long term framework, providing a secure and well defined pipeline of future work, underpinned by billions of pounds of planned investment. Our client has a proven track record of promoting from within and boasts excellent staff retention. By way of example, the Senior Commercial Manager leading this framework has been with the business for 13 years and has progressed through six promotions during that time.
What do you need for this role?
- Be a qualified (HND / Degree) and experienced Quantity Surveyor with civil engineering project experience, gained working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Principal Contractor
- Be able to demonstrate robust procurement knowledge and process, along with strong contract administration
In return you will get a basic salary of between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum along with a competitive benefits package, which will include a £6,000 car allowance, travel, annual performance bonus, private medical etc.
