About the Role

We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager / Category Manager to join a leading main contractor within the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic and growing sector.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a category of sub-contractors (MEP/Fit Out etc)
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external supply chain partners.
Provide category insights, market analysis, and risk assessments.
Develop and present business cases to senior stakeholders.
Monitor subcontractor performance, implementing improvements where necessary.
Lead or support procurement workstreams to achieve team objectives.
Negotiate and influence pricing to align with organisational goals.
Align procurement strategy with sustainability initiatives, including net-zero carbon and material re-use strategies.

Requirements

Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or category management (over 2 years)
Experience within the construction industry is beneficial.
Knowledge of sub-contractors
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Commercial acumen and analytical skills, including data analysis.
Organised, pragmatic, and numerate with an eagerness to learn.
Ability to take ownership, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
IT and software proficiency.
