A leading Tier One Main Contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to join a flagship Life Sciences project in Central London. This technically challenging scheme involves delivering a state-of-the-art laboratory and research facility, with a strong emphasis on innovation, compliance, and coordination.

Your Role

As MEP Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) design elements through to delivery. You’ll be working closely with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent, compliance, and programme alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP design coordination across all disciplines and stakeholders
  • Manage design workshops, technical submissions, and design reviews
  • Ensure MEP design is aligned with programme, cost plan, and client brief
  • Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
  • Monitor design risks, compliance with Building Regulations, and change control
  • Work closely with the site and project delivery teams during construction phase
  • Maintain documentation and design tracker to support project reporting

About You

  • Proven experience as an MEP Design Manager on complex, technical projects
  • Previous experience with a Tier One Main Contractor or top-tier MEP specialist
  • Familiarity with Life Sciences, Laboratories, Clean Rooms, or R&D environments is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Degree or equivalent in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
