Own quality for the end to end delivery of a roof structure that has no precedent in the UK and almost certainly no successor. It covers 25,000 mΒ², spans up to 65 m, and the geometry doesn't repeat. Almost every element is a one off: cut from the model, trial assembled off site, then lifted into place in an operation that gets one attempt. There is no second-guessing this one on site. Either it works in the model and in the shop, or it doesn't work at all. Which is why quality here isn't a paperwork exercise. Most quality roles apply a known standard to a familiar product. This one doesn't. The methods and the assurance approach are unique, and so is the experience you'll take away from it.It's also a structure that will still be photographed in a hundred years. When people ask what you've built, this will be a great answer. In this role, you will:Develop and maintain project quality systems in line with company and client requirementsCommunicate quality standards and updates to project teamsConduct audits of internal processes, design partners and the supply chainReview and assess subcontractor quality documentationPrepare and implement project-specific quality proceduresSupport the development and compliance of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)Manage NCRs and snagging systems, ensuring timely close-outSupport project handover and carry out weekly quality progress checksDeliver training and mentoring to promote quality best practiceContribute to sustainability and carbon reduction objectivesTo be considered for this role, you will need to:Be a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager working on construction projects, with experience of large steel structures and envelope packagesHave auditor training and experience of conducting quality auditsBe a strong communicator, able to manage stakeholdersHold a relevant qualification (HNC, HND or degree) in civil engineering or a construction-related subjectOn offer is a salary of 55,000β75,000 per annum, plus a car allowance, travel allowance, pension, holiday and a share-saving scheme. Please send your CV by email, or call us on 020 3998 7690."People Group is an equal opportunity employer.
