A well-established and highly respected main contractor is seeking an experienced Projects Director or Operations Director to lead the successful delivery of multiple high-profile hotel developments across London and the Home Counties. This is a pivotal leadership role within a growing business that has built an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, high-quality projects across the hospitality sector.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Regional Director and Board, you will take overall responsibility for a portfolio of major hotel projects, typically managing a minimum of three live schemes simultaneously, each valued in excess of £40 million. You will provide strategic leadership across operations, commercial and design functions, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, on programme and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will oversee full site delivery teams including Project Directors, Project Managers, Site Managers and supporting technical staff, while acting as the key interface between clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of multiple hotel projects across London and the Home Counties.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams from pre-construction through to handover.
- Manage and mentor Project Directors, Project Managers and senior site-based personnel.
- Work closely with Commercial Leads to monitor project performance, profitability and risk management.
- Collaborate with Design Managers and consultants to ensure design development aligns with programme and construction objectives.
- Drive programme certainty, quality standards and health & safety performance across all projects.
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as the senior operational representative for the business.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience operating as a Projects Director, Operations Director, Regional Director or Senior Project Director within a leading main contractor.
- Strong track record delivering large-scale hotel, hospitality, mixed-use or complex commercial developments.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects valued at £40m+.
- Demonstrable leadership of multidisciplinary teams across operations, commercial and design functions.
- Excellent client-facing, stakeholder management and communication skills.
