The Client: My client is a prominent and forward-thinking energy infrastructure provider in the United Kingdom, specializing in the design, delivery, and long-term operation of large-scale decentralized low-carbon utility networks. The role: Reporting to Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Specialist, the Electrical Technician will deliver electrical maintenance requirements through planning, contract management of engineering and maintenance support contractors. You will also be expected to deputise for the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement – responsible for electrical maintenance related items, technical specification, scoping and production of purchase orders.
  • Outage Management – support large plant item outages, working under supervision of the engineering team members.
  • Data Collection – Able to collect data relating to plant performance and support maintenance strategies.
  • Engineering Improvements – support engineering team in implementing infrastructure and systems improvements to maintain plant operations.
  • Safety from the System - Follow site Safety Management procedures.
  • PLC-SCADA – knowledge of systems is an advantage and training will be given to develop necessary PLC SCADA skills.
  • Maintenance Planning - undertake assigned planned and unplanned electrical maintenance and provide diagnostics on electrical systems.
  • Oversee contractor maintenance activities assigned by EC&I Specialist.
