A leading global construction and consultancy firm—renowned for delivering some of the most complex and high-profile projects across sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure, and commercial—is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer.
This position is to lead the electrical package on a large-scale Research and Testing Facility based in Oxfordshire, currently in the pre-construction phase and due for completion by mid-2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of the electrical scope, working closely with internal teams and coordinating with other disciplines and subcontractors.
- Manage electrical subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services and installations.
- Oversee all electrical interfaces across packages and workstreams, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with project specifications.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including the client, design teams, and site teams.
- Identify risks within the electrical scope and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
- Support the project’s sustainability and carbon reduction objectives through active management of energy use, materials, and methodologies.
- 27 days annual leave + bank holidays
Requirements
- Strong electrical engineering background, with a thorough understanding of electrical installation techniques, commissioning processes, and systems integration.
- Proven ability to manage electrical systems through design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Experience managing complex electrical packages on major building services projects.
- Proficiency in construction planning, scheduling, and delivering work packages from pre-con through to completion.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety practices including electrical safety, working at height, fire safety, and site logistics.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and commissioning protocols, including cause & effect testing, BMS integration, and IST processes.
- Relevant qualifications such as BTEC / HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- CSCS Card and SMSTS certification.
