A financially stable, privately-owned Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking to appoint an Ecological Clerk of Works to a recently secured £30M project in Suffolk. This is a complex piece of inland marine construction which will provide you with great engineering exposure to large volume sheet piling, coffer dam construction and bridge construction. Very unique works. As an Ecological Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for: Creating and contributing to key construction phase documents such as: Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Pollution Prevention and Environmental Management Plans, Construction Method Statements (CMSs), Permits to Work, Ecological Constraints Plans, Habitat/Landscape Environment Management Plans (LEMP) Attending and contributing to site meetings. Consulting with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) and organisations. Providing toolbox talks and site inductions for site personnel. Advising on ecological protections and mitigation for protected species. Conducting pre-construction and construction phase checks for protected species. Performing ecological watching briefs during activities like vegetation clearance, habitat translocation, or demolition. Coordinating species translocation and implementing mitigation/licensing for protected species. Monitoring pollution and recommending remedial actions as needed. Keeping daily records, signing off on documents, and producing reports for compliance and auditing purposes. On offer is a salary of between £35,000 – £40,000 per annum with car allowance and standard benefits (holiday and pension). Interested?
