A leading Tier 1 specialist MEP contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to join their team on a landmark commercial development project in Central London. This is a major £40m MEP package, entering pre-construction in 2026, with site works commencing in early 2027 and practical completion scheduled for early 2028. This role offers the opportunity to shape the project from early-stage design through to delivery.
The Role
- Lead and manage the electrical engineering function from pre-construction through delivery
- Oversee and mentor 2 Electrical Project Engineers
- Drive electrical design coordination, value engineering, and technical compliance
- Work closely with internal MEP teams, consultants, DNOs, and the main contractor
- Ensure programme, quality, safety, and commercial targets are achieved
- Take ownership of key electrical packages including power, lighting, life safety systems, and specialist installations
- Play a key role in client engagement and stakeholder management
- This is a leadership-focused role with significant responsibility across technical, programme, and people management aspects.
About You
- Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial new build projects
- Strong electrical background within Tier 1 or major MEP contractors
- Experience managing and developing engineering teams
- Excellent technical knowledge of LV distribution, infrastructure, and commercial building services systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead from pre-construction through to completion
