Are you a NEC contract expert? Does a stand alone position, focused on contract and technical delivery excellence, sound appealing? We’re looking for an experienced Principal Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a significant capital investment programme, valued at around £5.3bn.
If you enjoy being recognised as a technical and commercial expert rather than managing people, this role provides the opportunity to influence key decisions and deliver high profile projects through collaboration and expertise. You'll tackle the projects others shy away from; complex, challenging schemes facing uncertainty, commercial pressure, or active claims. You'll thrive in ambiguity, enjoy solving difficult problems, and remain calm and effective when projects are under scrutiny.
Generally, you'll be responsible for:
- Commercial leadership of complex, high value infrastructure projects
- Ownership of budgets, forecasting, cost control, and value optimisation
- Expert management of NEC contracts, commercial risk, and change processes
- Strategic stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Governance, reporting, and continuous improvement of commercial performance
- Coaching and development of junior commercial professionals
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Expertise in NEC contracts and commercial management best practice
- Significant experience in a Senior or Principal Quantity Surveyor role
- A background in major infrastructure, utilities, engineering, or other regulated sectors
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets, commercial risk, and change control
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience of collaborative delivery models and alliance style contracting would be advantageous
- A degree and MRICS or equivalent professional qualification
On offer is a salary of around £70,000 to £80,000 along with an annual bonus of up to 15%, a £6,000 car allowance, private health care and a very generous employer pension contribution.
If you're ready to make a real impact, help deliver essential infrastructure, and contribute to a sustainable future for millions of people, then please don't hesitate to apply via email, or drop Rob a call on 020 3998 7671.
